-
Take a beginner Python course before college.
-
Codecademy is the reason I got a 4.0 GPA.
A little head start makes a huge difference
-
This is how recruiters find you.
Any tool, topic, or skill you have experience with, add it.
The more niche and obscure, the better
-
It's way cheaper and easier for gen-ed classes
I got 12 credits from there, someone I know got 30+
My Method for Data Projects
- I learned this framework in the Google certificate, it's essentially the scientific method for data and it has been very successful in practice.
- Ask
- Communicate with stakeholders and domain experts to understand context and desired outcomes , and the question(s) being asked.
- Use this knowledge to create a clear list of questions being asked and define a successful end goal to work towards.
- Prepare
- Determine what data you need, whether it exists or needs to be collected. Locate and gather it from all relevant sources.
- Clean, format, and structure the data to be ready for analysis.
- Process
- Use statistical and computational techniques to explore the data, identify patterns, and extract insights.
- Create visualizations to help understand trends and relationships within the data.
- Analyze
- Interpret the results of the analysis in the context of the original questions and goals.
- Identify key findings, trends, and insights that address the questions being asked.
- Share
- Communicate the findings and insights to stakeholders through reports, presentations, or dashboards.
- Use clear visualizations and narratives to effectively convey the results and their implications.
- Act
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop action plans based on the insights gained from the analysis.
- Implement changes, monitor outcomes, and iterate as necessary to achieve desired results.
Creations
- Random Code Toolkit - Private Repo
- Newton's Laser Tag - Company Website
- Aquarius Wellness - Company Website
- Much more on my GitHub, though the best stuff is private.
-
This package runs on a powerful, lightweight algorithm that intakes a list of randomized character strings and trains a data
model with positional character weights to generate realistic replications of
the codes, as well as analytics helpful for understanding or reverse engineering the generation method.
-
Website for mobile laser tag business with mileage calculator for travel fees based on zip code.
I like this one because I was able to get the calculator working by just stuffing all of the code inside of an embed block, instead of upgrading the SquareSpace plan.
-
Unfortunately, I did not make this, but I do maintain it for the business.
I did a ton of work on the previous version, which was also made by someone else and ended up being scrapped due to compatibility issues.
